Install Xfce in Ubuntu 12.04:

Xfce is available in Ubuntu universe repository, you can search and install Xubuntu-desktop in Ubuntu software center.

It’s version 4.8, the latest has reached xfce 4.10.

If you want the latest, open terminal by Ctrl+Alt+T, and execute this command to add ppa:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xubuntu-dev/xfce-4.10

Then update and install xfce 4.10:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install xubuntu-desktop
