Two ways to Download videos from Youtube or other video sites in Ubuntu

This tutorial shows how to download videos from video sites.They areĀ  CClive and Fast Video Download.

1.Fast Video download,plugin for Firefox can download video files from popular sites like YouTube, Dailymotion, Break.com and more.

Just go to this page,install this plugin and restart firefox.

2.CClive is a lightweight command line video extraction tool for Youtube and other similar video websites. It is a rewrite of the clive software in C++ with lower system footprint and fewer dependencies.

Install CCLive

Prerequisites:

  • libcurl 7.18.0+
  • libpcre 7.8+
  • libiconv 1.12.0+
  • gcc 4.2+ (cclive uses the tr1 extensions)

Download from here,or go to homepage.

Extract the package and locate to the file folder in terminal and run:

./configure

Now,you can use this command to download videos:

cclive URL
