Set Gmail as default Mail Client in ubuntu

There’s a simple way to configure the default browser and mail client in ubuntu.Firefox is the default web browser,so you shouldn’t need to use  this screen,but if you want to set the default mail client,here’s the way to do it .

Just navigate to System–>Preferences–>Preferred Applications

Under Mail Reader,select Custom in pull-down menu,and type following in Command area,changing “wraith” to your username

/home/wraith/open_mailto.sh %s

Then,download this ,and save to /home/username

run following command in terminal yo make it executable:

chmod u+x ~/open_mailto.sh

Done
