Quickly Search apps,files information in Ubuntu using Google Desktop

Google Desktop is a desktop search application that you can easily search your own email, files, music, photos, and more as easy as searching the web with Google just by typing a few words in a quick search box.

Install Google Desktop

Download Google Desktop from:http://desktop.google.com/en/linux/
Double click to install,or use this command in terminal:

sudo dpkg -i package_name_here

Once installed,launch from Applications->Google Desktop.

Using Google Desktop

Right click on Google Desktop icon,you can change your google search settings:

Hit Ctrl+Ctrl (Hit Ctrl key twice) and there appears a quick search box.Type your keywords and start searching.

Make Google Desktop auto-run when startup

Go to System->Preferences->Startup Applications,click on Add and type /usr/bin/gdlinux in command field.
