Ubuntu has a file manager that you can view files in tabs,it also gives you most of the functionality from Nautilus.
To intsll the tabbed file manager, move to Applications->Add &Remove… on the top right of your screen.
Type PCMan in search field, select “PCMan File Manager”,click on apply change to install.
When the file manager installed, you can open it up at Applications->System Tools->PCMan File Manager.
Just right click and select “Open in New Tab” if you want to view a file folder in new tab.
