Stickynotes indicator is a simple app written in Python3 and GTK3 that allows to jot down thoughts, lists, and reminders on Linux desktop. It works on Ubuntu 12.04 & 12.10 (Unity, GNOME Shell, XFCE/Xubuntu, with partial support for KDE/Kubuntu) and Linux Mint 13 (MATE and Cinnamon).

Install Stickynotes indicator in Ubuntu using ppa:

Hit Ctrl+Alt+T to open terminal, copy and paste following commands and run one by one to install Stickynotes from the ppa repository:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:umang/indicator-stickynotes

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install indicator-stickynotes

Once installed, open it from the dash and you’ll see the indicator and new note on desktop.
