The KDE community has announced the Release Candidate of the 4.13 versions of Applications and Development Platform. This simple tutorial will show you how to install or upgrade to KDE 4.13 in Ubuntu 13.10 via the PPA.

A partial list of improvements can be found in the 4.13 Feature Plan. A more complete list of the improvements and changes will be available for the final release in the middle of April.

upgrade to KDE 4.13

To install KDE SC, press Ctrl+Alt+T on keyboard to open the terminal. When it opens, run the commands below one by one:

sudo apt-add-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install kde-standard kubuntu-desktop

You may replace the last command to sudo apt-get dist-upgrade if you’re going to upgrade the KDE.
