Linux Deepin is a fork from Ubuntu. Recently, Linux Deepin released 11.12 beta version with translucency theme. Here’s how to install this theme in Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric gnome shell. First take a look at screenshots:

Now open up a terminal window and get start following steps:

1. Install git and create folder for git project:

sudo apt-get install git
mkdir git-project &&cd git-project

2. Download deepin-gs-theme and lazycat-gs-theme

git clone git://github.com/manateelazycat/deepin-gs-theme
git clone git://github.com/manateelazycat/lazycat-gs-theme
git clone git://github.com/manateelazycat/DGSE.git

3. Move just downloaded themes to ~/.theme

mv deepin-gs-theme/ ~/.theme/
mv lazycat-gs-theme/ ~/.theme/

Move DGSE to /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/

sudo mv DGSE /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/

4. Install Gnome Tweak Tool, enable the theme and DGSE

sudo apt-get install gnome-tweak-tool

For DGSE (Deepin Gnome Shell Extension), you may need install gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme first.

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/gnome3
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell-extensions-user-theme
