This program is great for checking code snippets and for editing where multiple amendments are required. I use it to test TikZ code (my copy of KtikZ stopped working when I upgraded Ubuntu) and tables. With this package I am able to simply enter a TikZ diagram and change what I want – the results are shown almost instantaneously. Diagrams can then be easily saved to a number of formats..

This is one of the most useful LaTeX utilities I have found…

Really cool. What I like most is the simple user interface of Gummi. An alternative – if you don’t want to install a program but still want to use LaTeX is maybe to use a browser-based version (like http://latexlab.org or http://verbosus.com ).

I am very excited about Gummi – its seems to offer real time editing of the latex document! The interface: Latex code exists on the left and the real time document on the right – the best of both worlds. Excited to see this develop:)
