Plymouth Manager is a GUI tool to manage the plymouth splash screen at Ubuntu start-up and shutdown. Ubuntu has few plymouth themes in its official repository, and by default doesn’t have a plymouth manger installation. Here is how to install latest plymouth manager and plenty of plymouth themes from an untrusted PPA.
Mario Guerriero’s ppa provides lastest stable plymouth-manager packages and also a mass of plymouth themes for Ubuntu 10.04/10.10/11.04/11.10.
To install latest stable plymouth manager, run the commands:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mefrio-g/plymouthmanager sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install plymouth-manager
To install plymouth themes (check on):
sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-* satanic-plymouth-theme
