Banshee is a media management and playback application for the GNOME desktop, allowing users to import audio from CDs, search their library, create playlists of selections of their library, sync music to/from iPods and other media devices, play and manage video files and burn selections to a CD.
Latest stable Banshee for Ubuntu Karmic and higher
banshee team ppa provides latest stable debs of Banshee for Ubuntu. Open up a terminal window under Applications -> Accessories menu and run:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:banshee-team/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install banshee
Currently, the latest is version 1.8.1
