This simple and brief tutorial will show you how to create movies out of your pictures in just 3 steps using PhotoFilmStrip. There are several output possibilities for VCD, SVCD, DVD up to FULL-HD.

Install PhotoFilmStrip:

PhotoFilmStrip is available in Software Center for Ubuntu 13.04 Raring, 12.10 Quantal, 12.04 Precise, and 11.10 Oneiric. You can also download the latest package form this page. Then install via commands in terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T):

sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/photofilmstrip_*_all.deb

Then fix the dependency problem:

sudo apt-get -f install

Create video from photos using PhotoFilmStrip:

First launch PhotoFilmStrip from the Unity Dash, if you install the latest package you may need to launch it in command line. Now create a video in 3 steps:

1.) Click to create a new project:

2.) Drag and drop your photos to the blank area, and customize the motion path:

3.) Click Apply to create the video.
