If you’re running on Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat and you have a iPhone/iPod with iOS4, you may be available to view the pictures via nautilus but cannot access musics with Rhythmbox or GTKPod. The old packages in the official repositories cause the problem, and it can be fixed by adding the Paul McEnery PPA:
Open up a terminal window (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and run following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:pmcenery/ppa sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
Now, restart or re-login, and it should work in in Rhythmbox or GTK Pod when your plug-in iPhone/iPod with iOS4.
