GCompris is a high quality educational software suite comprising of numerous activities for children aged 2 to 10.Some of the activities are game orientated, but nonetheless still educational. Below you can find a list of categories with some of the activities available in that category.

Currently GCompris offers in excess of 100 activities and more are being developed. GCompris is free software, that means that you can adapt it to your own needs, improve it and, most importantly, share it with children everywhere.

Install GCompris in Ubuntu

The GCompris game is translated in more than 50 languages and many schools have been using GCompris as their computer learning skills for kids.
Go to System->Administration->Synaptic Package Manager,type gcompris in quick search box.Then mark “gcompris”,”gcompris-data”,”gcompris-sound-en (choose your own language package here)” by right-click on them and click Apply to install them.

Once the installation finish,you can launch the game at Applications->Games->Educational suite GCompris and Applications->Education->GCompris Adminstration
