i tryed several configuration for a long time, than i read this http://www.osside.net/?p=6992 but not was for me, but i’ve tryed to look around in the bios and i found a voice like “play sound on boot” ….and it work!!

I had similar problem with headphones. That solved my problem:
https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-audio-dev/+archive/ppa

But last week I have mute main speakers when no headphones is plugged. Change volume level on different alsa mixers doesn’t make any effects (volume level is mute back when I try to up volume level). Some players doesn’t work properly (except SMPlayer).

had the same problem in UUE 2.7 (lucid)- i used some creative muting /unmuting /plugging-in-of my headphones…
UUE 2.8 (maverick)= not so lucky. no amount of subtle switchery helps as the sound mutes each time i plug in the jack (2.7 muted @ unplug!).
asus k60ij notebook.

iam using ubuntu ulimate 2.7, whem i connect the head phone then sound comes from speaker and headphone. please solve this problem.

I have this problem but when I do either of these options I only get three columns, headphones are not an option.

I have Ubuntu 10.04, alsa 1.0.22, and notebook ASUS K52J.

I’ve tried most of the solutions I could google, but none worked for me. What can I do?
