This quick tutorial is going to show you how to enable or disable automatic logon in Ubuntu 13.04 Raring. It’ll work on the default Unity desktop and Gnome Shell.

I’ve created a simple flash to do the job:

enable-autologin

In the video, I enabled automatic login to Unity Desktop with the user ht. For details:

1.) Launch System Settings from the Unity Launcher or the menu at top-right corner. It is equivalent to Windows’ Control Panel.

2.) Choose User Accounts in the System Settings window.

3.) In next window, highlight the user account you want to auto login with. Then move to the top right and click on Unlock.

UserAccounts

4.) After that, you’re able to toggle the Automatic Login switch.

Enjoy!
