This is a small indicator applet on Gnome panel and Unity to display CPU and Memory usage as percents, it also offers the possibility to run your own command and display its output. This sounds like a good idea but kinda useless if you have conky on desktop already.

The developer’s ppa only provide System Monitor Indicator for Ubunu 11.04 Unity, use these commands:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:alexeftimie/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install indicator-sysmonitor

For Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10(both 32&64 bit), download and install the deb . I tested in Ubuntu 10.10 and it need install this dependence:

sudo apt-get install python-psutil

Note: it will remove g++-4.1(default is g++-4.4) while installing the dependence.

After installation, find it under Applications -> Accessories menu.
