Here’s what I don’t fully understand:

1. I added the new lines in sources.list

2. They point to (i.e., I’ll be downloading and installing from) http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu

3. Since this is a website, anyone can visit it.

4. I did, and drilled deeper by clicking the links on the pages: “pool”, “main”, “b”, “burg”. This lengthens the address to:

http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu/pool/main/b/burg/

5. Upon arriving, the .deb file names all begin with “burg” such as:

burg_1.98+20100623-1+maverick_amd64.deb
burg_1.98+20100623-1+maverick_i386.deb
burg_1.98+20100623-1_amd64.deb
burg_1.98+20100623-1_i386.deb

6. The instructions above, under “Update and Install” suggest:

“sudo apt-get install grub-pc”.

So, when do we install burg? I followed “sudo apt-get install grub-pc” after adding the new repository and keys, and nothing happened. The system said ‘grub-pc’ was up to date.

Note: I’m using 10.10, so I modified the new line in sources.list to:

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/bean123ch/burg/ubuntu maverick main

If this is about burg, shouldn’t there be a

sudo apt-get install burg

somewhere in the instructions?

used the instructions on:

and they worked perfectly. very simple and much easier than above. just press “t” while grub is on the screen and you get to choose which theme you want.

i used this installation guide:

but the theme does not want to show up….
the relsolution 1024×768 works.
but not the sora-theme.
any suggestions?
