Change ubuntu login window theme

If you are not satisfied with the default login themes,you can get a new one as you like by following step.

First,open Login Window manager at System–>Administration–>Login Window

Click on the Local tab, there are some themes in the selection box,you can also download some you satisfied from here.

Add the downloaded themes by clicking Add,then locate to the file and install, or just drag and drop the downloaded theme package into the themes selection box.

Select only or random login window theme at Theme drop-down menu,and tick on the themes you like.

    This doesn’t work for ubuntu 9.10(karmic).
    So do you have any alternative to this in karmic

    Me too.there is no login window in Ubuntu 10.04.
    What will we do?

    Since Ubuntu 9.10,there’s no login window any more.
    However,we can use GDM2Setup (GUI tool) instead,read this:

    Hi i have downloaded some themes, these are in the tar file how to open those and get into the themes folder if any and the screen that u show in the above screen shot does not open in the UBUNTU 10.04 so what to do the window is something different this is the window in the older version
