I have 200GB of free space on my hard drive. When I tried installing Ubuntu 9.10, I selected the option of using free space on my hard drive as a storage for the operating system. A dialogue box popped up stating that I did not have enough free space on my computer to partition Ubuntu. It also stated that I only have 128 MB of free space on my computer, which doesn't make sense. I also tried partitioning my files to install Ubuntu, but I received an error regarding a non selection of a root file system. Any help would be great, since I am new to this.
